Description Of Work: NeoTec set up my new computer. He took the time to make sure that I was comfortable with the new set up. This computer has Windows 8 which is very different from the XP that I had before. He loaded all the software that I needed and he also brought material from the hard drive. I hadn't remembered the pictures that I had stored on the old computer. The new one was already set up. I told him not to worry about it but he went out to his car for his laptop and took the hard drive out of the old computer. He took a lot of extra time to find all my pictures and put them on the new computer. He is very, very good at what he does and is extremely professional and personable. I will be calling him for all my future computer needs. I will also be taking classes from him. Member Comments: He arrived right on time and began the process of taking down the old computer and setting up the new one. He retrieved all my files for me. He also explained how the new Operating System worked in detail and made sure that I was comfortable enough to spend some time (on my own) using the new system and told me to call at any time with any questions. He was here about 2 hours and charged a very reasonable $150.00. I would highly recommend him to my friends and anyone who needs help with a computer. This was actually the second time I contacted Neo-Tec. The first time I called, he came over within a half hour and attempted to fix my problem. He was here over an hour and everything seemed to be fixed. However, I had to call him back and he gave me some instructions over the phone. When this didn't work either, he took over my computer and spent at least forty five minutes trying to correct the problem, which he did. There was no charge for this. On a subsequent call, after my computer displayed the blue screen, he told me it was shot. (This explained all the previous problems trying to fix my issues) He recommended a Dell or a Hewlett Packard and I purchased an HP. The visit on the 19th was when he installed the new computer.

Internet almost impossible to use. It took forever to load a page and I kept getting script warnings and for example, couldn't even log into yahoo. If I used the side scroll on the page, it would take at least a minute for it to react if at all. These are just some examples. Neotec cleaned out the clutter and now it is like a new computer. Member Comments: My computer and internet was super slow. I called and he was the only company who answered his phone in person. Before Neotec, I called Geek squad and they told me their computer system was down (how ironic)! Neotec was available right away and it took an hour and a half to clean up my computer. He also got our wireless router to work and got our TV connected to the internet. He was very helpful. I will call him again in the future if I need computer help again

Jeff "unstuck" my husband's work computer, upgraded our anti-virus programs, gave my computer a tune-up and connected our new Google TV to our wireless system. Member Comments: First, we have used Neotec before and have always had excellent service in a timely fashion that we could count on to be helpful. My husband called Jeff on Tuesday night in a panic since his work computer had frozen. Jeff arrived at 8 AM the next morning, resolved the issue with the laptop, upgraded all the anti-virus software, did a complete scan to check for other issues and answered some questions my husband had about software. Then Jeff addressed my PC, also upgrading anti-virus programs, eliminating programs I no longer needed, doing a scan to check for other issues and generally making sure my computer was functioning at it's best. Jeff then hooked up our Google TV. Jeff is extremely knowledgeable, very friendly and is usually able to come out on short notice. I have recommended him many times to my friends and neighbors. I have his card under my mouse pad!

I called him in to repair an old broken computer. He took it apart and let me know that , unfortunately, it was not worth repairing. I'm glad that he was honest enough to tell me that, instead of making a sale. I then had him check a laptop which was rather slow, and he did a great job on that--cleaning out all accumulated worthless programs and tuning it up to its original status. I was having issues with my computer freezing up and not handling multi-tasking well. I asked Jeff from Neotec to come by and help restore the performance of my computer. Jeff spent an hour finding issues with applications and resources that were bogging down my computer. Member Comments: After Jeff finished his analysis and "tune up" the computer works like new again.

We had several issues that Jeff addressed; 1) corrected connectivity from fax/scanner to our wireless network. 2) Fixed erratic Xbox connection, 3) got our home phone reconnected to fax/scan so that it rings all around the house and not just from the fax/scanner, and 4) reconfigured wireless device so improve the internet access.. Member Comments: Jeff is very knowledgeable and extremely easy to work with. Once we described the issues we were having, he went to our computer and reviewed the current status. He really listens to what you'd like to accomplish and thoroughly reviews the system before making suggestions. He did not try to push any products or services in order to "sell" you more. I would highly recommend Neotec.

They debugged our computers for us, and did some general connectivity on our computers as well. Member Comments: The experience has been great! This is the company that I call for any computer problems that I have; we usually use their services about twice a year. They charge an hourly rate, which is reasonable for the quality of the job. It’s been a great company to work with! He’s also saved my marriage, too.

My four year old computer basically crashed, & I could not get it operating with the usual array of reccommended fixes. I called Jeff & set up an appointment for the following day. He arrived on time, as scheduled, & proceeded to try a number of remedies to get it working again, only to determine, as I suspected, that the computer had a hardware problem that could not be inexpensively & easily fixed - it had basically died. Thankfully, Jeff was able to directly wire the hard drive, thus bypassing the inoperative & unrepairable operating system, and retrieve most of my vital files (including several income tax & software backup folders) that would have taken me many, many labor intensive hours to redo. These he copied onto a thumbdrive & transferred to a laptop computer that I also own. Member Comments: I was impressed with Jeff's obvious knowledge about computers, and the manner in which he efficiently cycled through & eliminated as nonworkable the usual solutions towards fixing an apparently unrepairable computer operating system, and managed to retrieve and save the important folders & files I needed by directly wiring the hard drive . Having gone through a number of computers, I recognized that this particular one could not, & should not, be repaired (all have a limited life & cannot be inexpensively & easily repaired), and that it was best to retrieve the important files that I needed, and merely transfer them to a newly-purchased computer. Jeff proved himself on an overall basis to be not only knowledgeable about computers, but professional, courteous, and prompt. I certainly would recommend him to anyone with such computer problems, and intend to use him again for my continuing needs in this area.

My work computer was moving at a very slow rate. Since I use this notebook for my work, I didn't want to leave for repair for a few days. Called Jeff, responded quickly, picked up unit and handed back to me less than 24 hrs. Excellent and prompt service. Exactly what I was looking for. Oh, and he did a great job fixing my notebook. Jeff came out within the hour, performed the diagnostic $100 for first hour, needed a $60 part - NOT A NEW COMPUTER! Yeah, great news, plus all my pictures & data are saved. Computer Repair Eliminate Virus Program Installation Member Comments: My computer crashed after being infected with a virus. I had family videos, pictures and work files that I now had no access to foolishly did not have them backed up. I called Jeff and he was available to come out the very next day to my home to perform the services. He indicated on the phone it would take about 2 hours which is exactly how long it took. Jeff deleted the viruses, cleaned up other junk as well as installed a new anti-virus and recommended a back-up system for my computer. He was very professional, on time and answered all questions I had. He did not try to sell me on any additional services I did not ask him for. I highly recommend Jeff at Neotec and have been referring as many people as possible.

Our computer was as broken as can be. We couldn't get to any screen - just frightening blackness. The computer (a ZT) was just three years old. Jeff came over and recovered all of our data, somehow, and evaluated the state of the old computer. I was VERY worried about the data, but he put it all on our external hard drive. The verdict was that our old motherboard was kaput. We could have replaced it, but Jeff (correctly) advised us that it would not be worth the money invested - we'll be better off with a new desktop. Member Comments: Excellent. I will certainly, positively, call Jeff again if I ever have another major computer problem. He was very friendly, and worked from the minute he entered the door until when the job was done. His rates, in my opinion, are very reasonable. He's got a great sense of humor, too! I'd give him an A+ if I could.

My computer would not start - would get locked up on the Windows screen. Computer was non repairable but Jeff was able to recover everything on the hard drive. Member Comments: Unfortunately (for me) I am a repeat customer. The first time Jeff repaired my computer and got it back to working how it should. I had an old computer and knew it was only a matter of time before it broke again but I was not ready to purchase a new one. Well, a few months later the computer died so I called Jeff again. He came out promptly and tried to fix my computer. Jeff said it was non repairable but he was able to recover everything on my hard drive. I did not have an external hard drive so Jeff offered to go out and pick one up for me since I had a newborn baby and would be difficult to get one. His prices are very reasonable and I am just so thankful he was able to recover everything - including all the pictures of our newborn baby!

Jeff cleared up my husband's computer which had been running rather slow. He rearranged things on my computer to free up additional space on my hard drive. He moved my iTunes to an external hard drive. Member Comments: When I first called, his voice mail did not pick up the call. He returned my call very promptly and apologized for his voice mail not functioning so I could leave a message. We scheduled an appointment for 3 days later which was a Sunday. Love the fact that he was able to come on a Sunday when my husband was home to ask his own questions and get answers directly instead of me forgetting half of it! Jeff arrived promptly and got right to work. He was very easy to talk to and didn't geek speak me! I manage our i-Tunes accounts, all four of them, from my computer and had no space left on my hard drive. He moved the i-Tunes library to an external hard drive and created a short cut on my desk top to access it (which was great for the computer idiot I am)! He didn't leave us until all our questions were answered. We will call him with any other issues, gladly recommend him to anyone and ask his opinion when we are ready to purchase new computers!

Jeff connected my wireless printer, checked the connections I made myself, transferred the data from my old computer to the new tower and wiped the old tower clean so it could be recycled safely. Jeff looked at the new system, made changes and adjustments to make it work more efficiently, installed a free security system on the tower, adjusted my mouse operation and taught me the key features of Windows 7 that he felt would be the most useful. He also evaluated our wireless network, made suggestions and then provided a device to create a wired system to prevent me from being constantly kicked off the wireless connection. Member Comments: I purchased a new computer tower, monitor, wireless keyboard and mouse and a wireless printer with the hopes that I could install it all myself. When the printer would not connect, I checked Angie's List for computer help and found Neotech and Jeff Bingham. What a joy! Jeff was available within an hour and I was put at ease as soon as he walked in the door. Jeff has the rare gift of both technical savvy and excellent communication skills. Above all, he listened to me and addressed my issues in a calm, reassuring way that made me feel supported and educated. Jeff answered my questions with information I could understand. I was very impressed with his manner and obvious computer skills. I have had tech support before but never from someone with Jeff's ability help me understand what he was doing and why. For those customers who just want their technology fixed, Jeff would happily do that as well. My husband needs to replace a desktop and also purchase a laptop for business travel and we will definitely call Jeff to help us buy the right products and have him set them up for us. I have already recommended Jeff to others. He is fabulous!

He came to my house right away. I needed 2 computers looked out and ended up looking at them all. Member Comments: He looked at my son's computer and said it was poorly designed because it was overheating. He said he could replace it but it wouldn’t really help so he gave me some options. He then went through my daughter’s computer and cleaned it up and got rid of malware. He installed anti-virus software on my computer. He is very professional and I feel like I can trust him.

Jeff installed the power supply for the desktop. Member Comments: I was very pleased that when I called and explained that I couldn't get my computer to turn on, Jeff said that he was available to come out right away. He did so and, as things go, he pushed the button and started the computer. I asked him to install the part anyway because I didn't want him to leave and then find out it wouldn't turn on again. Although the computer would start, I still couldn't connect to the Internet (which I found out was an Internet Service Provider problem that was remedied by a phone call). I will definitely use Neotec again in the future. I now have a computer that works perfectly every time.

Jeff worked on several things at my request. He installed a Wii game, set it up with Netflix, set up a router, a new laptop, synced up my email accounts between my laptop and desktop, changed the corded mess on my TV & components, and found the problem with a surround sound speaker. He came back at no charge to reinstall a new Wii game that replaced a defective game, He was very patient and explained what he was doing so that I would understand the different set ups. Member Comments: Jeff is a true professional and values doing the job right. He fixed things that a local stereo/TV store set up improperly. I had called the other company twice to fix the surround sound but they completely dismissed a popping/static rear speaker. He arrives on time and tests out what he fixes. Then he had me try it out to make sure that I understood the new setups. I will always call on Jeff for future electronic and computer issues.

I was having computer issues and decided to call Neotec after reading the positive reviews through Angie's List. My computer was not loading properly and freezing on the Windows screen. Jeff was able to come out the same day to service my computer. I explained the problem over the phone and he was able to give me an estimate - stating it was only off what I was saying over the phone, but the estimate was right in line with the charges. Member Comments: Jeff came out the same day and arrived right on time. He was able to service the computer and it is now working perfectly as it should! Price was very reasonable and within his over the phone quote/estimate. Overall I am very pleased with his service.

"After having an incredibly horrific experience with the Geek Squad at Best Buy I found Jeff with Neotec Computer. Probably the best personal experience combined with the expertise of a well seasoned IT. I had 3 computers he was working on all at the same time. I was thinking that he was going to charge me for 3 separate computers but when he was finished in about 2 hours he charged me an hourly rate. So when one was installing and updating he was working on the others. Not only was he so productive he also gave me some tips on how to further protect my network. With free support and the in house, yes I said In House appointment he came to me and worked on my computers so I didn't have to disconnect everything and transport them to him. Great business model! So not only was he about a 1/3 of the price of Best Buys Geek Squad, he actually fixed the computers in house cheaper than 1 computer I had the Geek squad do which turns out wasn't even fixed when I got it back. I'll definitely use Jeff at Neotec again for my next computer melt down. "

The Geek Squad told me that they would have to reload my computer and I would lose everything. I didn’t feel right about them so I thought I would check around. I called Jeff at Neotec and he seemed really knowledgeable. I made an appointment and he came and fixed the problem. He DIDN’T have to reload the computer and I DIDN’T lose everything It is good to find a real professional. I don’t know why the Geek Squad is in business

Best I've ever seen: I spent 3-4 days looking for a new network support company. Most of them never even called me back. NEOTEC called me the next day and stopped in my office the day after. NEOTEC keeps their promises, is friendly, and has a huge amount of knowledge. The best part is they don't try to sell you anything you don't need. They live by the logic of keeping it simple and effective. I would highly recommend NEOTEC to anyone who has any sort computer problems
